William Charles “Chuck” Moss is an award-winning Director of Photography and producer with more than three decades of experience creating high-impact visual storytelling across documentary film, broadcast television, and institutional media. His work includes Emmy-nominated and festival-winning projects for HBO, PBS, and Discovery Channel, as well as culturally significant programming such as PBS Kids’ Alma’s Way, where he helped bring to life short-form stories centered on curiosity, creativity, and lived experience through cinematic, child-focused storytelling.
Chuck has served as Director of Photography on acclaimed productions including War Don Don (HBO), an SXSW-winning and Emmy-nominated documentary on post-conflict reconciliation; The Definition of Insanity (PBS), a groundbreaking film that contributed to legislative reform addressing mental health and incarceration; and Neither Memory Nor Magic, the story of Holocaust-era poet Miklós Radnóti. His television credits include long-running series such as History Detectives (PBS) and Deadly Devotion (Discovery Channel), as well as work for Netflix, the BBC, and behind-the-scenes coverage for the Academy Awards.
In addition to documentary and broadcast work, Chuck has helped shape visual storytelling for major institutions, brands, and nonprofits, including American Express, the Clinton Global Initiative, Success Academy Schools, Toyota, Pfizer, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq, Microsoft, and leading universities and hospitals. His experience enables organizations to communicate complex ideas with clarity, credibility, and emotional resonance, creating media that feels grounded, human, and worth sustained attention.
